Hilos is a participatory dance piece with a puppet in playgrounds.

Visual poetry tells us about the continuous search for connections with everything around us, be it a swing, a bench or someone with whom we share a trip.

The story of Hilos is the search for relationships in a world where each person lives isolated in their condition, in their situation, in their fears. It is a world where threads can trap us as well as help us get out of loneliness, it all depends on how we use them.

So how can we build a community and feel like we live in a web of threads and relationships that improves us and brings us closer together as people? How can we fill these threads with life, smiles and celebration?

Motherhood is a thread that never breaks, a second umbilical cord that unites destinies, worries, worries, sadness but also joy and plenitude as interpreted, this Friday afternoon, by the Italian actress and dancer Antonella D'Ascenzi with her show 'Threads'. Contemporary dance, puppets, a note of artistic gymnastics and a lot of poetry enhanced with gentle movements, as if rocking a baby, Antonella described in a playground where, over the course of half an hour, she summarized all the stages of motherhood .

About seeking support, about the importance of 'building' a community, a safety net, to shelter us in bad times, the Italian Antonella D'Ascenzi also spoke in the Plaza de Poniente, who gave the afternoon premiere of Threads. Again through dance, and also through puppets. «It is a metaphor for connection and stay. It is an investigation into how remoteness can be transformed into that,” the actress and creator, who has lived in Spain for years, explained before the premiere. The assembly, she pointed out, germinated in the middle of the pandemic, a difficult time that she had to face with the added challenge of motherhood, being away from her loved ones. «Threads is also that story about motherhood and about that community that ends up being a help»
